I for one would like to see the entire face of Internet Marketing change and I think Google is doing the best it can to help accomplish that, but I hope to find a few other Internet business people who would like the same thing.
I clicked on what was supposed to be a “special report” after having given my first name and email to two different people, and low and behold that so-called “special report” was just another long pitch page for another over priced information and training product with endless videos, that I was not about to buy.
This stuff should be called the “going in circles chasing your tail” business opportunity.
You know darn well all the people that buy this are not going to start doing the same thing; and thank God for that because if they did, Internet marketers would soon become the biggest joke in cyberspace, if they aren’t already.
There are some wanna-be gurus out there who think you are stupid if you don’t have a squeeze page and a one time offer. They will tell you that you need to force people to give up their email address to get your precious “free report” (or whatever) so you can collect a huge email list to pitch to your offers to your future followers. That may be a good strategy for some people but it gets really old after a while.
I really don’t mind giving my email address in exchange for good advice and good information, but I think it would be nicer if it were an option, not a requirement. But to give out my email address to two different people just to be sent to a long pitch page for a product is just infuriating.
I would like to speak to all Internet Guru’s when I say this. For your information, a pitch page is not a free report, its just a pitch page. If a free report does come with this wild goose chase, it better be a good one, but usually it is simply a viral ebook with affiliate links in it and a lot of old information.
I would like to suggest a more positive direction for Internet Marketing.
Get a real product!
